The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) selected Clark County native Renee Nutter as the recipient of the 2024 “We Dig America” Award. She joins a list of prestigious recipients such as President Ronald Reagan and Oregon Rep. Peter DeFazio.

Renee Nutter received the award for her exceptional contributions to the construction industry and workforce development initiatives pioneered by Dozer Day® events across the country. In 2008, The Nutter Family Foundation acquired the rights to the Dozer Day® brand and has since added seven other Dozer Day® events to areas such as Kansas City, MO and Hendersonville, TN. As of 2024, the Foundation has reinvested $2.2 million into the communities with a Dozer Day® presence.

“Receiving the ‘We Dig America’ award is truly a humbling and gratifying experience,” said Renee Nutter. “I am deeply honored to be recognized by NUCA, an organization that I hold in the highest regard. This award is a testament to the dedication and hard work of not only myself but also the incredible team of industry professionals who have supported me throughout this journey of bringing Dozer Day® to more communities in America.”

In a press release, Doug Carlson, NUCA chief executive officer said, “NUCA is honored to present Renee Nutter our top industry award. Dozer Day® provides an unforgettable experience for children, sparking their interest in engineering, construction, and teamwork. Renee has been the driving force behind these exciting events, and her support of our industry and our employees today and for the future has been inspirational.
